KIEL
Yeah, I still whack off thinking
about it. On lonely nights, it
helps me get to where I have to get
to.
HORACE
Did you start seeing the coach
after graduation?
KIEL
Um...no. He said that it was just
a once in a lifetime thing. Like
your eighteenth birthday, ya know?
PETE
(rolling his eyes.)
That guy sure was smooth.
KIEL
At least he and I were honest! We
didn't go pretending that we had
girlfriends!
ANDY
Hey! It was very different back
then. We didn't have T.V. shows
with gay characters. The media
never alluded that being queer was
remotely acceptable.
PETE
Yeah, I hate to say it, but I'm
afraid that esquire is right on
this one.
(slugs Andy in the arm)
If any one had found out, I bet his
ass would have been out of a job.
HORACE
Aren't you two sounding like bitter
queens! Just because you didn't
act on your natural impulses at an
early age, doesn't mean you have to
knock about Kiel! I bet dollars to
doughnuts you two would have loved
having someone to show you the
ropes when you were 18.
(to Kiel)
So, is your first great love still
teaching?
KIEL
I don't know. He moved. I think
he met some guy around his own age
and they moved...someplace. I
mean, like, he was only 24 when I
turned 18. So it wasn't like some
dirty old grandpa grabbing at me or
something.
(looks at Horace)
Sorry, I didn't mean for it to come
out that way.
HORACE
(chuckle)
Oh,no offence,dear boy. I have no
grandchildren to speak of, so I
don't fit into that category,
specifically.
